PLA-Silk Refilament is made from modified PLA, retaining the easy printing characteristics of standard PLA. It features a delicate surface with a silky luster and no visible layer lines. Excessive printing speed can reduce surface gloss. When printing with PLA-Silk, slow down the outer wall speed to enhance the surface shine.
PLA-Silk has slightly poorer cooling performance than regular PLA. A higher cooling fan speed is required when printing overhangs.
PLA series materials have low heat resistance. We recommend keeping the printer enclosure open during printing to lower the chamber temperature. If the ambient temperature is too high (above 32°C), it is best to turn on the air conditioning to cool down the room. Excessive heat can cause the PLA filament to soften and deform at the extruder gears, leading to clogging.
