What is 3D Printing?

3D printing technology, or three-dimensional printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is a manufacturing technology based on digital model files that creates three-dimensional solid objects by stacking materials layer by layer.

The source content for 3D printing technology can originate from 3D models or other electronic data, and the printed 3D objects can possess virtually any shape and geometric features. Unlike traditional subtractive manufacturing methods (such as cutting and engraving), 3D printing technology requires no molds or complex machining processes, and can directly print physical objects layer by layer from a digital model.

In Layman's Terms Simply put, 3D printing is the process of stacking materials round by round, layer by layer, to print the exact object you desire.
